The brief was ambitious: bring Parisian refinement into a family home without losing the calm, grounded atmosphere that defines living in Het Gooi. Through rigorous scheduling, a single coordinated team and exacting technical standards, the project was delivered turn-key, from first preparation to final handover, within one month.

A Foundation of Craft: Parquet, Plaster and Mouldings

The interior rests on a hand-finished oak parquet laid in a Hungarian Point pattern. Its precise chevron geometry gives the rooms a measured architectural rhythm, guiding movement through the home and lending the floor a quiet sense of heritage. Hand finishing brings out the natural depth of the oak, so the surface feels warm underfoot and rich in the changing daylight.

The walls are finished in museum-grade smooth plaster, in a curated palette of soft, earthy tones. Parisian-inspired wall mouldings add structure and proportion, framing each wall like a composed elevation. Together, plaster and moulding create a backdrop that is classical in spirit yet entirely at ease in a contemporary Dutch home.

Light Built Into the Architecture

The signature element of the living area is a custom-integrated illuminated niche. Conceived as part of the wall itself rather than as an added fixture, it creates depth and casts a warm, ambient glow across the plaster.
